Delta Showcases Innovative Wireless Charging and Machine Vision Solutions for Smart Logistics at MODEX and LogiMAT 2024

Delta just participated in the MODEX (Atlanta, USA) and LogiMAT (Stuttgart, Germany) logistics tradeshows in mid-March and presented high-efficiency wireless charging systems and smart industrial automation solutions. At the two tradeshows, Delta’s booths featured three topics: “Unmanned Logistics and Material Handling”, “Wireless / Wired Charging Solutions for Industrial Vehicles”, and “Automated Conveyance and Warehouse Monitoring”. Key highlights included the M∞Vair Series Wireless Charging Systems, the M∞Vbase Series Modular Charging Systems and industrial power supplies, 3D ToF image generating, and automated solutions for logistics equipment.

  • Unmanned Logistics and Material Handling

During the MODEX tradeshow, this area featured a live-demo AGV and a SCARA (Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm) robot to demonstrate material handling and transportation. The AGV integrates wireless charging system and automation components, including the 3D ToF camera, controller, drives, and motors for the automated operation of the AGV. The 3D ToF camera DMV-T / DMV-TM Series performs depth sensing and edge computing in a compact design to provide quality images and accurate 3D depth information in millimeters and ensure obstacle avoidance and efficient guidance for the vehicle.

Another key to realizing fully unmanned operation of the AGV is the Wireless Charging System M∞Vair 1kW model and the M∞Vbase Charging System. On the vehicle, the 1.5 kg lightweight onboard unit enabled contactless charging within an up to 20 mm airgap with the primary unit installed on the wall to connect the AC supply. This demonstration attracted much attention with wall plug-to-battery efficiency of up to 93%. The AGV is also equipped with a metal connector to simulate the contact charging via the M∞Vbase 1 Phase Modular Charging System, which is able to provide 1 kW to 6.75 kW output power with three to five PM1350 charging modules.

The other highlight in this area was the SCARA robot, which demonstrated the automated pick-and-place to simulate unmanned loading and unloading in logistics. It can also be applied to other applications such as screw driving, dispensing, soldering, palletizing, assembly, and more.

  • Wireless / Wired Charging Solutions for Industrial Vehicles

Delta exhibited the M∞Vair 1kW - 30kW Wireless Charging Systems, and 1PH M∞Vbase Modular Charging System with webpage UI service in this area. Both 30kW & 10kW models are suitable for forklifts and ground support equipment, while the 1kW and 3.3kW models are applied to AGVs and AMRs. Among all, the 30kW model has an up to 95% contactless power transmission, and allows autonomous charging over a gap of up to 150 mm. The 10kW model features up to 150 mm contactless power transfer distance and up to 95% efficiency, and will be available soon for the market.

  • Automated Conveyance and Warehouse Monitoring

Delta exhibited multiple automation products such as Human Machine Interface (HMI), AC Servo System, VT Scada, PLC, Drive and industrial power supplies for warehouse and logistics applications. For industrial power supplies, Delta presented IMA Series and Force-GT Series to ensure stable electricity supply for logistics equipment.

The Force GT Series features single and three phase models with up to 960W power and 95% efficiency. The conformal coating design on the circuit makes it applicable to not only the warehouse and logistics industry but also the semiconductor industry, industrial equipment, and green facilities. The IMA PLUS Series features a maximum 2,000W power output with 150% peak power for 5 seconds. It also features the PMBus communication protocol for control, programming and monitoring.
